Corporate structure
The activities of the CHT Group are organized in three Business Units.
Textile Solutions
The CHT Group is a strategic and innovative partner of the textile industry. Our vast range of sophisticated auxiliaries, function generators and textile dyes cover the complete textile chain. This includes fiber manufacturing via pre-treatment, dyeing, textile printing and flock together with finishing, coating, and jeans & garments. Our customers in this market segment are textile manufacturers and textile finishing companies all over the world.
The CHT Group makes its contribution by establishing aspects of sustainability within the international textile value chain. In doing so, we support the goal of worldwide compliance with uniform labor, social and environmental standards. To achieve this goal, we are working internally on our sustainability goals and are involved nationally and internationally with associations and our customers, brands, partners and NGOs.
For years, we have placed a special focus on the development of auxiliaries and dyes that ensure savings in energy, time, waste and water in the manufacturing process. We develop customer-oriented processes that are tailored to the production facilities and the articles being manufactured.
As one of the leading suppliers of textile chemicals, we also see our responsibility in supporting our customers along the textile value chain in their sustainability activities. This means shortening transport routes and speeding up on-site service. In order to achieve this, textile auxiliaries are increasingly being produced locally within the textile producing countries. CHT is even going further and investing in new production facilities in key countries. In May 2023, the new production site in Bangladesh was inaugurated.
In addition, the textile industry is required to significantly reduce its greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions. This can be achieved by pursuing a balance between the consumption of natural resources and the reduction of energy and water consumption and waste generation.

CHT is the right partner for maximum product quality and sustainable transformation of your processes:
- Wide range of sustainably classified and labeled products
- CHT textile solutions support "Right First Time - Production": less rework, higher productivity, lower costs
- Optimization of production time
- Robust processes - reproducible quality
- Minimized water consumption
- Reduction of energy consumption
- Cutting CO2 emissions
Industrial Solutions
The Industrial Solutions business unit serves a wide range of market segments.
Within the Care Ingredients business segment, we supply the cosmetics and personal care industry primarily with specialty silicones for the formulation of consumer care products. The modified silicones and specialty products are used as highly effective functional ingredients in personal care products - including hair care, body care, and color cosmetics - as well as in home and car care products. Our innovative formulations combine advanced functionality with environmental compatibility. The innovative ingredients help our customers' products stand out from the competition.
CHT's Performance Materials market an innovative range of high-quality silicone elastomers for numerous industrial applications. The diverse silicone portfolio includes a range of adhesives and sealants, potting compounds and encapsulation materials, low-density foams for weight reduction, protective coatings, and mold making products. These sustainable formulations are used in applications in the fields of electronics, e-mobility and transportation, LED and lighting technology, healthcare, energy, and many others. With CHT's global silicone solutions, you benefit from a versatile product range, customized product development, and comprehensive technical support tailored to your individual requirements.
Silicones are considered materials with a good carbon footprint, as their durability and properties make them superior to other polymer raw materials and substances. In addition, they are generally highly efficient as active ingredients and additives and can achieve the desired effects with lower application quantities. This is beneficial for both our customers and the environment.
As a reliable partner to the paper and pulp industry, our Paper Technologies business segment formulates innovative and sustainable specialty chemicals for paper and pulp production, water treatment, and paper finishing. We are setting new standards with our modern, environmentally friendly chemical additives. In addition, we develop customized chemical solutions for the packaging and graphic papers, tissue papers, fibers, specialty papers, decorative papers, laminates, and adhesives industry segments.

Washing Solutions are the best choice when it comes to modern products and processing aids for textile care, bedding care, and plastic recycling.
We provide the textile care industry with a complete range of products, innovative processes, and dosing technology for all areas of modern textile care. Our activities focus on the development of perfectly coordinated “washing and care concepts” that meet the requirements of modern industrial laundries. In our product and process development, we place particular emphasis on reducing water, energy, and time consumption, as well as minimizing the use of chemicals, in addition to achieving excellent washing results.
The use of modern aids in plastics recycling helps to continuously increase the proportion of recyclable plastics. Our cleaning agents, defoamers, and flotation aids not only improve the quality of the recycled material, but also optimize process flows and enable smooth machine operation.
Functional Chemicals
CHT's Functional Chemicals division develops and markets high-performance specialty chemical additives with a strong focus on technical innovation, service, and sustainability. Our specialty products improve product quality and functionality. They help achieve specific product properties or adapt and optimize production and application processes.
The Coatings and Construction market segment offers performance-enhancing additives that impart functional properties to paints, coatings, printing inks, and versatile mineral-based construction products and applications.
Our portfolio includes wetting, dispersing, and leveling agents, rheology additives, defoamers, and wax formulations for surface modification, as well as water repellents.
The range of rheology additives is largely based on renewable raw materials such as guar and starch. Our customers are primarily in the paint and coatings industry and produce, for instance, interior and exterior wall paints, printing inks and overprint varnishes, automotive and industrial coatings, and wood coatings. In the building materials industry, we supply manufacturers of mortars, screeds, and fillers, as well as producers of cement, concrete, and their precast products with native rheological additives, plasticizers, anti-settling agents, and water repellents.

The Advanced Chemicals business unit specializes in the manufacture of functional additives for the leather industry (wet end and finishing), the agricultural industry (Crop protection, fertilization, irrigation optimization, cleaning, and maintenance), and mining (optimization of flotation and heap leaching processes for the extraction of precious metals).
Our silicones and wax emulsions are also used as release agents for manufacturing processes in many industries. From general applications such as food processing to the industrial production of metal parts, polyurethanes, tires, and shoe soles, etc.
In addition, we develop and supply a wide range of high-performance ingredients and intermediates for chemical co-producers, in particular for formulators of textile auxiliaries.
Organization
The global supply of our products and the assurance of consistent quality and performance are the most important requirements of our customers. The CHT Group meets this requirement with 27 worldwide companies.
Our lean organization promotes maximum dynamism and flexibility.
Concentration of competencies
The location of our Group headquarters, CHT Germany GmbH in Tübingen, is also the competence center for the Textile Solutions, Industrial Solutions and Functional Chemicals business units. The competence center for dyes and pigments is located at CHT Switzerland AG in Montlingen, Switzerland.
In addition to Germany, a competence center for polymers has been located in Istanbul, CHT Turkey Kimya since 2017, and the competence center for paper chemicals is split between Germany and CHT Brasil in Piracaia. The aim of the competence centers is to combine the technological and market strengths of our group of companies and to support global business development with new technologies and technical support. Furthermore, this structure enables us to continuously develop innovative products, applications or processes.
