The activities of the CHT Group are organizedin four business fields.
Textile
The CHT Group is a strategic and innovative partner of the textile industry. Our vast range of sophisticated auxiliaries, function generators and textile dyes cover the complete textile chain. This includes fiber manufacturing via pre-treatment, dyeing, textile printing and flock together with finishing, coating, and jeans & garments. Our customers in this market segment are textile manufacturers and textile finishing companies all over the world.
The CHT Group makes its contribution by establishing aspects of sustainability within the international textile value chain. In doing so, we support the goal of worldwide compliance with uniform labor, social and environmental standards. To achieve this goal, we are working internally on our sustainability goals and are involved nationally and internationally with associations and our customers, brands, partners and NGOs.
For years, we have placed a special focus on the development of auxiliaries and dyes that ensure savings in energy, time, waste and water in the manufacturing process. We develop customer-oriented processes that are tailored to the production facilities and the articles being manufactured.
As one of the leading suppliers of textile chemicals, we also see our responsibility in supporting our customers along the textile value chain in their sustainability activities. This means shortening transport routes and speeding up on-site service. In order to achieve this, textile auxiliaries are increasingly being produced locally within the textile producing countries. CHT is even going further and investing in new production facilities in key countries. In May 2023, the new production site in Bangladesh was inaugurated.
In addition, the textile industry is required to significantly reduce its greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions. This can be achieved by pursuing a balance between the consumption of natural resources and the reduction of energy and water consumption and waste generation.

Washing Solutions (Textile Care)
Our activities focus on the development of perfectly coordinated “washing and care concepts” that meet the requirements of modern laundries. In addition to excellent washing results, our current product and process development focuses in particular on saving water, energy and time while using less chemicals.
Our customers include worldwide-operating industrial laundry groups that run supra-regional laundries and are often specialized in working clothes and hygiene processes.

General Industries
This business field serves a wide variety of market segments. We mainly supply silicone specialties to the cosmetics and personal care industry for the formulation of consumer care products. We supply the release agents and lubricants industries with silicone products for foam control. Our range for the leather finishing industry includes specialty silicones for production and finishing. Our products also provide important added value as process aids in the agrochemical and mining industries.
We also offer an innovative range of high-quality silicone elastomers for numerous industrial applications. The main areas of application are in model and mold making, the automotive industry, aerospace, electronics, LED technology, medical technology and the energy industry.
Silicones are regarded worldwide as products with a good CO2 footprint, as they are considered superior to other polymer raw materials and materials due to their durability and properties. They are also generally highly efficient as active ingredients and additives and can achieve the desired effects with lower input quantities. This benefits our customers and the environment in equal measure.
As a reliable partner to the paper and pulp industry, we formulate innovative and sustainable specialty chemicals for the production of paper and pulp, water treatment and paper finishing. We are setting new standards with our modern, environmentally friendly chemical additives. We also develop tailor-made chemical solutions for the industry segments packaging and graphic papers, tissue papers, fibers, specialty papers, decor papers, laminates and adhesives.
Construction and Assembly
As a producer and provider of additives and specialty chemicals for construction materials and the paint and coatings industry, we have set the goal of supporting our customers with efficient components and innovative solutions. Our portfolio comprises wetting, dispersing and leveling agents, rheological additives, defoamers and wax formulations for surface modification as well as hydrophobic impregnating agents.
The range of rheological additives is largely based on renewable raw materials such as guar and starch. Our customers mainly operate in the paint and coatings industry and produce, among others, interior and exterior wall paints, printing inks and overprint varnishes, automotive and industrial coatings as well as wood coatings. In the construction materials industry, we supply manufacturers of mortars, screeds, or fillers, as well as producers of cement, concrete and their finished products with natural rheological additives, plasticizers, anti-settling agents or hydrophobic impregnating agents.
Organization
The global supply of our products and the assurance of consistent quality and performance are the most important requirements of our customers. The CHT Group meets this requirement with 28 worldwide companies.
Our lean organization promotes maximum dynamism and flexibility.
Concentration of competencies
The location of our Group headquarters, CHT Germany GmbH in Tübingen, is also the competence center for the Textile, Washing Solutions, Construction & Assembly and General Industries business fields. The competence center for dyes (belongs to the Textile business field) is located at CHT Switzerland AG in Montlingen, Switzerland.
In addition to Germany, a competence center for polymers has been located in Istanbul, CHT Turkey Kimya since 2017, and the competence center for paper chemicals is split between Germany and CHT Brasil in Piracaia. The aim of the competence centers is to combine the technological and market strengths of our group of companies and to support global business development with new technologies and technical support. Furthermore, this structure enables us to continuously develop innovative products, applications or processes.
