CHT China receives "Shanghai Water-Saving Enterprise Award"

CHT Group is proud to announce the recent recognition of our Shanghai plant as a “Water Conservation Enterprise” by the Shanghai Water Conservancy Bureau and the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission.

This honor affirms our global commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, aligning with the CHT Group's sustainable development objectives. The Award underscores our dedication to constantly reduce water consumption and strongly inspires us to further strengthen our conservation efforts aiming to set an example for eco-friendly practices in our industry and the city of Shanghai specifically.

 

The following actions have allowed us to practically halve our water use from 41,000 m3 in 2021 to 22,000 m3 in 2023:

  • Leadership focus and water conservation integration into company culture 
  • Advanced real-time monitoring system of water network
  • Permanent review of water usage trends and regular improvement measures
  • Recovery from steam condensates
  • State-of-the-art effluent recycling technology

 

We owe this success to a great interdepartmental team effort with the lead of the CHT China engineering department, but also great contribution of production, EHS, and other departments to ensure this outstanding results.
