Sustainable and responsible management - worldwide

Mid 2016 CHT signed the UN Global Compact. We consider this to be a big chance to underpin our demands for a sustainable, responsible management and for a permanent development.
Exchanging and sharing experience in the network will broaden our perspective in the future and sharpen our focus, but will also optimise our measures and contribute to fully exploit our potential.
By sharing information and experience with other companies we also have the possibility of finding additional activity fields for the CHT Group and expanding our business relations.

The CHT Group commits itself to the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact and to a responsible and management with integrity.

The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact

01 Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
02 make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

03 Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
04 the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
05 the effective abolition of child labour; and
06 the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

07 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
08 undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility and
09 encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

10 Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

German Global Compact Network

The German Global Compact Network (DGCN) consists of German signers of the UN Global Compact. Currently these are about 300 companies ranging from DAX Groups to medium sized companies and small specialists – and more than 40 organisations from civil society, research and public sectors. The network gives access to information on issues of corporate responsibility, exchange ideas and work together for practical solutions.
With their engagement they actively support the global vision of the UN Global Compact.

United Nations Global Compact

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. With the 10 universal principles they follow up on a vision for an inclusive and sustainable global economy providing benefits for mankind and markets.
By joining the UN Global Compact, more than 13,000 companies and organisations from civil society, politics and sciences in 170 countries have shown that they want to realise this vision.
