14 junior managers start their management careers at CHT

The starting signal was given. The first JUMP group started their two-year development program for managers in mid-May 2017.

The program’s objective is to support and to accompany the CHT junior managers who have lately taken charge of management responsibilities or who will take charge of them in the near future. Comprehensive management skills are transmitted which will be needed for future management tasks and for the successful implementation of management tools.

The present group is composed of colleagues from Germany and Switzerland. On the first day they were welcomed by the management board, and they started with team-building measures. On the second day the participants were preoccupied with themselves and worked on a personal assessment.

During two years the managers will be trained in 6 modules on distinctive management topics among others concerning their position as manager, on communication skills, conflict management, sound leadership and motivation as management task. Furthermore the participants work on a common team task. The results will be presented to the management board. An exchange of experience among colleagues rounds off the program.

JUMP is very close to practice and is based on exercises, role play and case studies directly from the daily professional work. Each junior manager develops his or her own authentic and successful leadership and individual strengths within the frame of the CHT values and guiding principles. Apart from leadership skills JUMP also offers the opportunity to build a network within the team of junior managers and to work together on professional challenges.

We wish the participants every success for their future CHT leadership career and an exciting time in the JUMP program.
