Friction of various types is a constant companion in the entire process chain, from extrusion of the molten polymer through to the winding up of the twined thread.

The thread additives regulate friction and control electrostatic charging. They are active on all interfaces involved (fibre/fibre, fibre/metal, etc.) and serve as effective process aids there.
